La Piccola Cucina, programma di successo del Centro di Cultura Italiano di Houston (www.iccchouston.com) ideato, implementato e condotto, da Tiziana Ciacciofera Triolo, direttrice dei Programmi e del Marketing del Centro, partecipa il prossimo primo Novembre con il suo format ad una raccolta fondi a beneficio de “The Scarlett Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research”, fondazione istituita da Jennifer e Robert James in onore della loro bambina di 8 anni, Scarlett James, affetta da un Lymphoma T Cell e i cui fondi vengono destinati per la ricerca sul cancro pediatrico.
L’evento, in partnership con il Motherhood Center, lo Houston Design Center e il Risotto Festival (www.risottofestival.com), consiste in una competizione culinaria che vede sfidare quattro squadre , ognuna composta da quattro piccoli chef, guidati a loro volta da quattro generosissimi Excecutive Chef, con l’unico intento di sensibilizzare la comunità sul tema Ricerca sul Cancro Pediatrico e raccogliere fondi per la fondazione.
Le super squadre che si sfideranno a suon di “Risotto” in onore dell’evento madre, il Risotto Festival, che si svolgerà sempre a Houston l’8 Novembre e vedrà i top Chef di Houston sfidarsi semp
re per la medisima causa, saranno così composte:
Squadra del Carciofo capitanata da Giancarlo Ferrara, propietario ed Executive Chef del rinomato ristorante Amalfi, vede in squarda i piccoli Chef Chiara Cattano, Camilla Manning, Veronica Pascucci e Giulia Sdringola che scendono in campo con Risotto alla parmigiana con piselli.
Squadra del Peperone, capitanata dal francese David Denis, propietario ed Executive Chef del ristorante Le Mistral, vede in squadra i piccoli Chef Bailey Yu, Ava Mulish, Julia Nguyen e Siena che scendono in campo con Risotto all’aragosta.
Squadra del Radicchio, capitanata dall’Americano Mark Riley Executive Chef del Erics Restaurant – Conrad Hilton School, vede in squadra i piccoli Chef Payton Daly, Brady Yu, Laila Muslih e Elliot Osborn che scendono in campo con Risotto al tacchino conflit con salvia e mirtilli.
Squadra della Zucca, capitanata dallo già conosciuto a questo pubblico Maurizio Ferrarese, Executive Chef de Quattro Restaurant – Four Seasons Hotel, vede in squadra i piccoli Chef Bella Chramosta, Diego Sarmiento, Domenica Sepe e Robert Wood che scendono in campo con Risotto alla zucca.
La Giuria, composta da illustri esperti del settore,
determinerà la squadra ed il risotto vincenti.

Il coinvolgimento dei bambini sin da questa tenera età, in attività a beneficio di altri, li prepara all’arte del donare, all’essere pronti ad aiutare chi ha più bisogno di noi. The Young Chefs of “La Piccola Cucina” Cooking to Cure Pediatric Cancer
La Piccola Cucina, successful program of the Italian Cultural Community Center of Houston (ICCC), created, implemented and hosted by ICCC Director of Programs and Marketing Tiziana Ciacciofera, will contribute with its format to raise funds for “The Scarlett Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research”, a foundation established by Jennifer and Robert James in honor of Scarlett James, their 8 year old daughter affected by a T-Cell Lymphoma. The funds raised will support pediatric cancer research.
The event, in partnership with Motherhood Center, Houston Design Center and Risotto Festival (www.risottofestival.com), will take place in the form of a cooking competition among 4 teams, each of which composed of four young chefs guided by a very generous Executive Chef, with the aim of raising awareness on pediatric cancer research in the community and raising funds for the foundation.
The teams will compete on the execution of “Risotto”, in honor of the main event, the Risotto Festival, that will be held in Houston on November 8th and will see some of Houston’s top Chefs competing for the noble cause. The teams are composed as follows:
The Artichoke Team: captained by Giancarlo Ferrara, Italian owner and Executive Chef of the renowned Amalfi Ristorante Italiano & Bar. His team includes young chefs Chiara Cattano, Camilla Manning, Veronica Pascucci and Giulia Sdringola, who will prepare Risotto alla parmigiana con piselli (Parmigiana risotto with peas).
The Pepper Team: captained by French Executive Chef David Denis, owner of Le Mistral French restaurant. His team includes young chefs Bailey Yu, Ava Mulish, Julia Nguyen and Siena, who will prepare Risotto all’aragosta (lobster risotto).
The Radicchio Team: led by Mark Riley, American Executive Chef of Eric’s Restaurant, located in the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston’s Hilton. The team he will be leading includes young chefs Payton Daly, Brady Yu, Laila Muslih and Elliot Osborn, who will prepare Risotto al tacchino confit con salvia e mirtilli (Tukey confit risotto with sage and blueberries).
The Pumpkin Team: guided by the well-known Maurizio Ferrarese, Italian Executive Chef of Quattro Restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel. He will be leading young chefs Bella Chramosta, Diego Sarmiento, Domenica Sepe and Robert Wood in the creation of Risotto alla zucca (Butternut squash risotto).
The Jury, composed of respected experts, will decide the winning team and risotto.
